Stockwellcare Support Services is a British company, born and based in Streatham, South London. We've been delivering home care here since 2014 — and we're a small company by design. Small enough that the people running it know every carer's name, and every person's story.

Our story

Listened to. Learned from. Improved.

2014. Stockwellcare Support Services is incorporated and begins delivering home care across South London.

2022. The Care Quality Commission visits us and rates us Requires Improvement. They flag specific things we need to fix — risk assessments, PPE protocols, staff training, timekeeping on visits. We're not happy. But we listen.

We write an improvement plan. We open a new training centre on site — adjustable bed, mobility aids, the equipment our carers will actually use. We introduce hub working so carers are matched to people in their own neighbourhood. We bring in electronic call monitoring so we know in real time if a visit is late.

2023. CQC come back. We are rated Good across every domain they measure — Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led. A local-authority social care professional tells the inspector: “We have no issues with this provider and we are pleased with the improvement they have made.”

Most providers don't tell this story. We do, because it's the most honest thing we can say about who we are: we listen, and when something needs fixing, we fix it.

What we believe

Three things we won't compromise on.

Care should feel like family

Not transactional. Not rushed. The same carers showing up for the same people, learning what matters.

Honesty over polish

When CQC flagged things we needed to fix in 2022, we made a plan and we did the work. We'd rather earn trust than perform it.

Independence wherever possible

Our job is to support people to stay in their own home, in their own routine, for as long as they want to be there.
